What is Block height ?
Block height is like counting the number of Lego blocks stacked in a tower. Each block represents a confirmed set of transactions on the blockchain network, starting from scratch, called a genesis block. You can’t remove a Lego block from the middle without messing up the tower, just like you can’t drop a block in the blockchain sequence.

Calculating the height of a block is like finding how many blocks have been added to a tower since it was started. It is determined by dividing the time since the blockchain was launched by the average time it takes to add new blocks. For example, Bitcoin aims for a new block every 10 minutes.

When comparing block heights, it is important to remember that different blockchains have different block speeds and sizes. So, you cannot directly compare block height between them. However, if your local copy of the blockchain doesn’t match the global count, it means it’s not up to date.

In simple terms, block height tells us how tall the blockchain tower has grown and whether our copy of it is in sync with the rest of the network.
